How To Do It
Trust me, the thought of doing it is way more intimidating than actually doing it. It took me about a month to build up to doing it. But after the third time, I felt like a pro.
You can use this coffee enema method for children as young as three years old. If you don’t feel totally confident employ a nurse or a trained colonic therapist to do it for you the first time. It’s important to carefully explain to the child exactly what is going to happen and make it as relaxing and as normal as possible. It might take 2 people when first doing it with a young child. While one of you administers the enema, the other one can keep the child distracted, entertained and relaxed, perhaps reading their favourite story, playing with toys or watching a video and giving encouragement.
Be prepared for accidents. To start with, for older children, the best place to administer the enema is a clean bathroom floor made comfortable with a blanket or duvet. Failing that it can be done in the bathtub. I now do mine on my bed, I have no problem holding it in. Have plenty of towels available and a clear path to the toilet.
For younger children, they may be more comfortable on a bed. You can use a towel over the rectum to help hold the enema in and a bedpan for any leaks.
